AFEP Program Curriculum Overview
AFEP, through its unique and one-of-a-kind program is designed for transformative learning to build confidence, excellence, leadership, excellence and community engagement. As a strategy, it combines project-based, seminar, and workshop learning.

Through individualized curricula and projects inspired by Japanese culture, AFEP equips participants with tools to navigate contemporary and emergent societal, cultural, technological, and peer challenges. It emphasizes mindfulness, harmony with nature, resilience, and emotional strength, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and visual learning. Based on this, we work one-on-one with all participants ensuring our cohorts remain small.

AFEP is a partnership between the program and participant (and families for the children and youth participants) for transformative and lifelong learning.
Because the program encourages Participant's to embrace community leadership, a “pay-it-forward” model is built into the program. Prior to graduation, the participant will have developed a program plan for a community project or a social enterprise project of their choosing. Upon graduation, the participant will be connected with community resources to bring the project to fruition, should that be of interest to the participant.
By connecting ancient wisdom with modern challenges, AFEP empowers individuals with tools for self-preservation and protection, to take charge and lead with strength, character, and purpose.
