About Ackermann-Froebel
Enrichment Program
The Ackermann-Froebel Enrichment Program (AFEP) is a non-clinical, project-based enrichment program for children (7-12), youth (13-18), women (19-40) and Mature ladies (41-65), Senior ladies (65 and above). The program was born from the recognition of the societal, cultural and technological assault on all demographics.
Our program is founded on five philosophical foundations - the Ackerman, Froebelian, Socratic, Stoic and Samurai. The amalgamation of these philosophies has resulted in a rich, unique and exclusive program that equips participants with a set of skills and tools based on ancient wisdom to meet contemporary and emergent societal, cultural and technological challenges head-on. While the AFEP attempts to quell the negative influences, it also harnesses the 'Possible' and the 'Potential'.

The program has seven levels with a total of 42 individual components. While participants will sequentially and systematically progress through the program at their own pace, the program is designed to be completed in approximately 12 months subject regular weekly attendance. This rich program is delivered through individual and collaborative projects drawn from Japan's rich and value based cultural concepts. Through these projects, participants will be exposed to a number scholarly and scientific material, outdoor activities. Wowen into the program are a number of concepts that nurture self awareness, respect, responsibility, empathy, identifying possible dangers and threats, confidence, decision making, setting boundaries, commitment, excellence, honour and civic consciousness to community and country. The projects are strategically identified to support the growth of those, and more, critical curriculum concepts. Therefore, the participants will be exposed to a range of scientific, academic and art forms. For holistic growth, the program will also have additional workshops that will be delivered by key community stakeholders to further empower participants.

The Michi Compass will measure progress and not success or failure.
The graduates from the program emerge ready and equipped to be exemplary change agents and honourable leaders.

The AFEP is value-based and is meant to augment Canadian public and private education. While the activities and journey of self-discovery can be therapeutic in nature, the program is not a clinical program.

Born from personal experiences of having benefited from elements of this program and extensive research, the curriculum map is strategic. The AFEP is a passion project from the heart of a mother who has successfully nurtured two amazing young ladies, who are themselves academically and professionally committed to the mental and physical health of our communities.
